SAN FRANCISCO ARTS COMMISSION BRINGS COLOR TO CONSTRUCTION

Street and neighborhood construction can be a bit of an eyesore, often taking a long time to complete. The San Francisco Arts Commission saw this problem and turned it into an opportunity. With local artist Jason Jagel and a little help from Ferrari Color, the Central Subway station construction zone became a beautiful temporary art display.

Printed on 3M 180C Adhesive Vinyl, the mural Procession measured 150 feet long and six feet high. The vinyl was treated with anti-graffiti lamination and showed playful cartoon-like characters in vivid colors.

Artist Jason Jagel said, “I love to observe the endless and layered stories of San Francisco. In Procession, I wanted to depict a suggestive panoply of city-dwellers that are playful, approachable, ambiguous and perhaps just a little bit weird. Stockton Street inspires my imagination, and I hope my imagination inspires everyone who passes by.”

At Ferrari Color we take pleasure in beautifying any area that might need a little boost. We were happy to work with the San Francisco Arts Commission, and we’d love to work with you on your next project
